Baby’s Osteopathy

Birth, reflux, restless, growth, otitis media

Labor can last from a few minutes to a few hours and can be a stressful event for mother and baby. Fetal skull molding is important for adaption of the fetal head to the birth canal during vaginal delivery. The skull can undergo a lot of pressure during this event and sometimes during labor the use of forceps or ventouse suction cup might be needed.

Musculoskeletal strains and tensions can have an impact on babies in many different ways, such as creating discomfort in the feeding position, turning the head more to one side when sleeping, and difficulties with digestion. Our approach is tailored to each patient, we use gentle osteopathic techniques that can help to release and balance areas of physical tension, helping to relax as well as promoting movement where the muscles have been under strain. Our aim to restore, maintain and support health and wellbeing in babies, children and teenagers.

Children and teenagers Health

Mothers and fathers bring their children to our clinic seeking advice for common conditions such as digestive issues, aches and pains, circulatory problems, as well as more complex conditions. As they grow we may see also teenagers with sport injuries, poor posture etc. Depending on the issue, the methods used are nearly always very gentle, but nonetheless powerful, requiring specialist skills and knowledge. We’ll always refer you to your GP if we feel that’s a more appropriate course of action.
